Planning for the Future

This election is about the future.  Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Water systems require significant investments made in a timely manner.  SJWD fell behind on planning and paying for replacements.  Catching up is expensive.  The district was lucky on low  interest rates to fund the replacement of the reservoir.  Luck is not a good strategy.  I bring over 30 years experience, public & private, leading utilities with sound planning and financial management policies.

San Juan Suburban Water District was formed because the North Fork Ditch Company was not maintaining its facilities.

In 1954, two thirds of the voters in the region voted to purchase the privately owned North Fork Ditch Company and form the San Juan Suburban Water District. It was a pinnacle point in our region and was intended to bring local agencies together for water supply while respecting each of the community's autonomy.

At its core, this election is all about respecting local people and interests not to impose control.
