From the Sierra to the Tap
Protecting our Water
Our community has used water for over 100 years. The district holds our water rights which are intended for the beneficial use of the customers. We must be active and engaged in protecting our water rights and the water quality. Water rights are complicated and effects of climate change are driving the State and others to renew efforts to revise the allocation of water to San Juan. We need experienced representation and creditable participation in the decisions from the crest of the Sierras to our tap. Water exports to S. California or Bay Area as well as sales to other agencies need to be a lower priority than our needs. Clean water is our inheritance and should be our legacy.
