San Juan Water

Putting the Customer First

SJWD has two types of customers.  wholesale and retail.  Wholesale customers are served San Juan water via another agency.

These agencies lead in their customer relationships.  These include; Citrus Heights Water, Fair Oaks Water, OrangeVale Water and Folsom Public Utilities.

San Juan also has its own retail customers and must divide the eforts between these two roles.  Both areas need attention to improve the transparency and responsiveness of the district to our interests and needs.

San Water district needs to walk the talk on customer focus. A recent $ 90,000 public relations contract has the top two priorities as positioning the district, image, as opposed to actually being.

“Position San Juan Water District as a leading, customer service-oriented water provider, delivering high-quality water supplies at fair rates.”

“Position San Juan as water leader locally, regionally and statewide”

Just because they say it is so, ... doesn’t make it true.

The activities of this contract are all about attempting to create an image of the San Juan Water leadership which they fail to live up to. Most water agencies the size of San Juan have no problem publishing their own newsletter and managing their own websites and social media. San Juan has used our rate dollars to support their board members political goals and will take out ads during the campaign season in order to create favorable impressions. There is nothing more disrespectful to the rate payers than to use our water rates in this manner.
